IMPORTANT ROADWORKS INFORMATION
Chilver Bridge Road, Arlington
Dear Resident / Business owner,
27 May 2025
Balfour Beatty is working in partnership with East Sussex County Council to manage the highways
service across East Sussex. As part of this, we will be carrying out drainage investigations on
Chilver Bridge Road, Arlington.
When do they start?
Works will be carried out on Monday 16 June 2025 between 9:30am and 4pm. We will inform you
of any changes to the dates or times via advanced warning signs on site.
What are we doing?
We will be completing CCTV surveys of the underground drainage system and using high pressured water to clear the pipework.
How will this impact highway users?
The team will be working from the junction of Chilver Bridge Road and continue approximately 310 metres North East. Access will be restricted to residents while we are working, with traffic diverted via Station Road, Wick Street, Michelham Priory Road, Caneheath, Wilbees Road, The Street, Chilver Bridge Road, and vice versa.
If you need access, please approach the closure point and speak to the site team.
This is for access only and there will be no through route. There may be a slight delay while we make it safe
for you to pass, and your vehicle is escorted by site marshalls. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Information for residents and businesses
Parking: If required, we will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site to advise where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay our works. Weather: All of these works are subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rainmay affect the progress of the works.
Waste collection: Access will be granted for any waste collection.
Public Transport: Local bus services have been informed of these works and will be diverted.
Properties close to the carriageway may experience a temporary disturbance as this can be a noisy process and those properties may experience flashing lights and reversing sirens.
